Tropical Beauty - Pink Hibiscus - By Dora Sofia Caputo
Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known simply as hibiscus, or less widely known as rose mallow.

These beauties usually are found in tropical climates, however you can get the sub zero hibiscus plants that take little care and come up every spring with lovely green bushes, and then late summer provide many white or pink flowers, depending on what you plant. We have 4 of such bushes and they survive very well in Wisconsin frigid temperatures. It is with great pleasure that I announce to you a big congratulations for this chosen piece of your artwork to be on special display on the homepage of our community of friends and fine artists, in our Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group. I appreciate your activity in our group and want to thank you so much for being an active participant in helping promote other fine artists within the group. Usually in turn, such promotions bring promotions of your artwork into perspective and are featured on our homepage. One good turn deserves another. Your quality, definition, character, and variation in your works bring about a visual pleasure to view and share with others. Thanks for your participation in our family of friends and fine artists in our WFS group.

Thank you so much Randy for your kind generous comments and feature in your great Group. And yes, although these are usually tropical plants, they are hardy enough to withstand frigid temperatures. I just love these colorful, beautiful flowers!
